toposoft Gesellschaft für Datenbanken und Applikationen mbH has been developing software for water, energy and agricultural management in Aachen since 1993. Our core: a high-performance time series database and the tools that turn measurement data into reliable information.
What we do
Under a common interface, our systems combine measurement data management, statistics, data acquisition, automated data flow, master data, reports and specialised modules for hydrology, meteorology and hydrogeology. Federal and state agencies, associations, municipalities and companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland use our software for flood protection, design calculations, data exchange, reporting obligations and long-term data storage.
The foundation of all modules is the robust, high-performance and proven time series database: hundreds of thousands of readings per second can be ingested from the most diverse sources and processed immediately – nowadays including grid data, for instance to derive time series directly from areal precipitation for analyses and models.
With TopoFlix (SQL queries, REST ingestion, command-line interface) and TopoCast (applications in the browser – see it live at topodesk.de) we are opening this architecture to everyone who needs to manage, analyse and distribute large volumes of measurement data – far beyond classic water management.
Our philosophy
Software is like a toolbox: it must contain useful, easy-to-use tools – for routine work as well as for special tasks and new approaches. Our tools are the modules.
We aim to build very durable modules – and at the same time keep adapting them to changing requirements. Since 1993 our customers have relied on a system whose core has stayed the same while evolving continuously. New modules are built on the proven foundation, usually in close cooperation with our customers.
All modules run on Windows and Linux. With the step from network drive to network protocol (TopoServer), a time series management system has emerged that stands out for its modern database architecture and is SQL-capable.
